Be sure that prior to applying you have read and understand the scheme's Terms and Conditions and in particular please note the following:-
Grant Approval must be in place prior to any purchase of materials or commencement of measures undertaken.
You may apply several times, however the grant value of your first application must be 400. The BER assessment grant cannot form part of the 400 amount.
All works must be carried out by a contractor registered with Sustainable Energy Ireland for this particular scheme. ( I can recommend trustworthy contractors).
After work has been completed, you must have a BER Assessment carried out in order to receive any of the above grants.
When might you NOT qualify for a Home Energy Saving scheme grant?
Depending on the scale or type of works being undertaken, the HES grant may not necessarily be appropriate for all homeowners. Homeowners will not qualify for a grant:
If your first grant application would be for less than 400. So if you are only intending to do attic insulation (200) or blown cavity wall insulation (250) on their own then you will not qualify for a grant
If you are only replacing your existing boiler with a typical efficiency boiler (<90% efficiency) then you will not qualify for a grant
If you decide to simply replace your boiler but not upgrade the heating controls to the minimum prescribed standard then you will not qualify for a grant
All Grants are payable when measures are completed in compliance with the schemes Terms and Conditions.
At Energy Rating Certs we maintain a list of SEAI Registered Contractors who will be able to carry out these improvements for you.
